December Pose of the Month - Tree Pose
One of the loveliest yoga poses is Tree Pose. The Tree Pose, known as Vrksasana in Sanskrit, is a basic yoga pose used to promote balance and centering. The Sanskrit name comes from the words vrksa meaning tree, and asana meaning pose. It's a beautiful balancing act with a multitude of variations for all levels.
Tree Pose can help improve your balance while it strengthens your thighs, calves, ankles and spine. It's also good for stretching the inner thighs, chest and shoulders. The pose also helps to remedy flat feet and is therapeutic for sciatica.
